1550nm SOA / Semiconductor Optical Amplifier
These Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers (SOA) come in a 14-pin butterfly package. They operate in both continuous wave (CW) and pulse modes, with a typical operating current of 500 mA in CW mode and up to 1200 mA in pulse mode. The amplifier delivers a maximum output power of 18 dBm (65 mW) in CW mode and 20 dBm (100 mW) in pulse mode.
These SOA’s offer a small signal gain of +25dB at an input power of -25 dBm, with a gain ripple of 0.3 dB (RMS) under typical operating conditions. They have an extinction ratio up to +75dB and a noise figure ranging from 8.0 to 9.5 dB, ensuring clean signal amplification. The SOA is housed in a butterfly package with a Panda PM1550 fiber output with FC/APC connectors
