405nm, 500mW Blue/Violet Laser Diode:

These 405nm blue laser diodes manufactured by USHIO (formerly Opnext) are rated for up to 500mW of optical output power. These devices are multi-mode and are offered in an industry standard 5.6 mm TO-can package (TO-18) with no monitor PD. These lasers feature low operating power levels of 390 mA and less than 5.5 volts of forward voltage required. Gallium Nitride laser diodes at 405nm emit a violet/blue wavelength and are used in many diverse applications. These lasers are offered by OptLasers, and are fulfilled through LaserLabSource.com worldwide. They are offered with a 6 month warranty. To ensure reliable long term operation, care should be taken to properly heat sink your device under test and careful selection of a current source with transient protection is critical.

Proper Handling and Operation of Laser Diodes:
