Product Overview
Dual Output Precision TEC Controller | 2 x 1400W Output Channels
The TEC-1167 is a specialized dual channel TEC Controller / power supply able to precision-drive two Peltier elements or resistive heaters. Each output channel features a true bipolar current source for cooling / heating, three temperature monitoring inputs (1x high resolution, 2x low resolution) and intelligent PID control with auto tuning. The TEC-1167’s hardware and firmware offers various communication and multiple safety options.
The TEC-1167’s two independent channels may also be operated in parallel, to either drive two individual or one common load (current doubling). Further functionality and features include: Smooth temperature ramping, thermal stability indication and auto gain (NTC probes). The heating and cooling power is optimized by proprietary thermal management routines based on power balance models (for Peltier elements and resistive heaters).
Auxiliary Temperature Sensors for Added Safety
The TEC-1167 is delivered configured for NTC (thermistor) temperature sensors. The controller is also configured with auxiliary temperature inputs that allow the connection of NTC probes located on the heat sinks of the Peltier elements. These auxiliary sensors can be used to ensure the thermal safety of the electronics system by preventing thermal runaway. The analog measurement circuit is factory calibrated.
Multiple TEC Controller Interface Options
This laser diode TEC controller includes PC-Software which allows configuration, control, monitoring and live diagnosis of the TEC Controller using USB, RS485, RS232 TTL or CANopen connections from a PC running Windows.
Software Control and Non-Volatile Memory Operation
After power up, the unit will operate according to pre-configured values. The software comes with a user-friendly interface for maintenance, firmware upgrades, basic data logging and device calibration. All of the parameters can be saved a nonvolatile memory. Saving can also be disabled for bus operation.
Display Kit for Rapid Prototyping
The DPY-1113 TEC Status Display Kit is available to help speed prototyping efforts. The DPY-1113 Display is configurable via the TEC Service Software, and allows the display fields to be customized. The OLED Display DPY-1113 can be connected with the connector X13.
