Product Overview
Compact, Versatile, PCB-Mount Laser Diode Driver
The WLD3343 is an easy-to-use analog circuit laser diode driver for space-constrained applications. It is an excellent OEM integrated solution for driving VCSEL’s, electro-optical equipment, and medical/dental systems.
Simple Operation, Easy Integration for Maximum Efficiency
The WLD3343 maintains high stability precision laser diode current in constant current mode, or regulates the laser current to maintain stable photodiode current in constant power mode. The WLD3343 is compatible with A-, B-, and C-type laser diodes (refer to the datasheet for details).
The WLD3343 allows a the user to set a custom current range depending on the application. This feature allows the setpoint resolution to be optimized, and also results in reduced output noise.
The driver is powered from a single voltage supply from 4.5 VDC to 12.5 VDC, and can supply up to 3 Amps to the laser diode. The power supply voltage determines the maximum compliance voltage delivered by the WLD3343, which means the entire drive circuit system can be designed for maximum efficiency.
At higher current levels, a heat sink is required in order to keep the WLD3343 within the Safe Operating Area. Custom heat sinks and fans are available; refer to the datasheet and inquire to discuss the heat sink requirements for your particular application.
Built-In Safety Features for Laser Diode Protection
The WLD3343 includes laser diode safety features: adjustable current limit, internal over-temperature shut down, and monitor outputs can be integrated in the OEM design to help protect the laser diode in the application.
