Product Overview
Osram 520nm, 80mW Single Mode Laser Diode
These 520nm green laser diodes manufactured by OSRAM are designed and manufactured to ensure long term reliability and very good single transverse mode spectral performance. They are used in high volume commercial applications as well as in research labs. They deliver output power of 80 milliwatts at room temperature. Their center emission wavelength is at 520nm (+/- 5nm) and are designed to operated in either CW or pulsed mode. They are offered in a compact 3.8mm TO-can ICut package. For simplicity of mounting these lasers to heat sinks and to PCB’s, the LD chip is isolated from the package. These devices can be found in laser projection products as well as in biomedical research and product applications.
Proper Handling and Operation of Laser Diodes:
Laser diodes are highly susceptible to damage from ESD and from temperatures exceeding their specified safe operating range. The user is advised to use care and proper ESD safety practices when handling them to avoid damage to the laser. A properly rated low noise current source, a low thermal resistance mount and a temperature controller should be used for optimal device performance and reliability.
