Product Overview
Sony 405nm, 20mW Laser Diode Overview:
These Sony 405nm laser diodes are offered in an industry standard 5.6mm TO-can package and are specified up to 35 mW (maximum) of optical output power. Recommended operating output power is 20mW. These Gallium Nitride diode lasers at 405nm offer drive current at 38mA require than 5 volts of forward voltage required. These blue lasers can be used for research applications as well as medical and other diverse applications.
Note on Laser Diode Safety:
Laser beams are extremely dangerous to human eyes. Never look at a laser beam directly and/or through an optical lens. When handling or operating a laser diode, the user must wear appropriate safety glasses to prevent laser light, including any laser light reflections, from entering into the eye. Focused laser beams through optical instruments or systems will increase the chance or eye hazard. The laser diode referenced on this product page is classified in Class 3B of IEC60825-1 and 21 CFR Part 1040.10 Safety Standards. It is absolutely necessary to take appropriate safety measures when using laser diodes, laser modules, equipment and systems into which laser diodes are incorporated and/or integrated.
