High Power 75 Amp Laser Diode Bar & Array Controller Overview

These high power controllers were designed for power laser diode bars and arrays which require high current, and provide industry-leading safety features to protect your high-power laser diode devices.

Protection Features for High Power Laser Diodes

The driver includes laser diode protection features such as current limit, soft start current ramp, and power surge filters to make sure that your laser diodes are protected at all times. The soft-start current ramp is pre-set at the factory to 300 milliseconds, but is user-adjustable. This current ramp-up and ramp-down function is designed to protect the laser from thermal shock during power-up and power-down sequences.

The 75 A laser driver includes a temperature sensor input and user-adjustable temperature limit to safely shut down the current source if the laser exceeds the desired operating temperature.

Laser Driver Features

The current output can be set to a (CW) continuous wave mode or can be set to run in a quasi-CW mode. The QCW mode can be triggered externally or internally using an on-board pulse generator. The driver delivers clean pulses with pulse widths from 25 μsec to CW.

TEC Controller for Precise Temperature Control of Laser Bars

The TEC controller is a bipolar +/- 8 amp and 24 volt controller designed to work with Peltier coolers mounted under or inside the bar or array device. The full PID control loop settles the temperature quickly and keeps the temperature at the desired set-point. Although they ship with factory set default PID variables, the user can adjust each variable to optimize the settling time of the temperature control loop.

Affordable High Power Controller for Laboratory R&D or Laser System Integration

These units are an ideal choice for a small form factor, high power laser control module for use in the lab for R&D or for use in a laser system product. They include mounting brackets to mount inside a equipment chassis or can be used stand-alone on an optical bench. They come with LabView drivers and a simple to operate graphical user interface. We offer multiple actively cooled compatible heat sinks which are available to be directly connected to the controller. Also, there are compatible low impedance cable options for optimizing QCW mode pulses.
