Product Overview
High Stability TEC Controller
The TEC-1091 is a precision TEC controller board that features a true bipolar DC current source for cooling/heating, two temperature monitoring inputs (1x main, 1x auxiliary) and intelligent PID control with auto-tuning. The TEC-1091 is primarily designed to operate as a stand-alone laser diode temperature controller embedded into a laser system or industrial product.
Auxiliary Temperature Sensors for Added Safety
This TEC controller is configured for independent NTC (thermistor) temperature sensors. It can also be ordered configured for Pt100 or Pt1000 sensor types. The TEC-1091 is configured with an auxiliary temperature input that allow the connection of an NTC temperature sensor located on the heat sink of the Peltier element; the auxiliary sensor can be used to ensure the thermal safety of the system by preventing thermal runaway. The analog measurement circuit is factory calibrated.
TEC Controller Digital Interface
The TEC-1091 offers numerous communication and safety options for laser diodes. It has a PC-Software that allows configuration, control, monitoring and live diagnosis of the TEC controller via USB, RS485, and RS232 TTL. All parameters are saved to non-volatile memory. Saving can also be disabled for bus operation. For the most straightforward applications, only a power supply, Peltier elements, and two temperature sensors need to be connected to the TEC-1091.

The DPY-1113 TEC Status Display Kit is available to help speed prototyping efforts. The DPY is configurable via the TEC Service Software, and allows the display fields to be customized.

This TEC controller is part of the TEC-Family of Meerstetter Engineering controllers designed to operate alongside devices of the LDD-Family of laser diode drivers. Both families of drivers share the same system bus, design, technology and physical dimensions.
Temperature Sensor Options for Application Versatility
The TEC-1091 is available in other configurations: Pt100/Pt1000 temperature sensor inputs, Voltage sensor inputs. The TEC-1091 can be ordered with different connection options: the standard module is configured with screw terminals; also available is a SIP-pin option for direct connection to ribbon cables or another circuit board, or solder pads for direct wire connection.
